HANAN ELATR
CLIENT: THE WASHINGTON POST
Hanan Elatr holds an item of clothing belonging to her late husband, journalist Jamal Khashoggi. The pair married only months before he was killed at the Saudi embassy in Turkey.
Elatr is currently living at an undisclosed home in the Washington, D.C. area where she waits as her asylum case progresses because she fears for her safety. Her phone was targeted by Pegasus spyware, along with the devices of other journalists, activists and other surveillance interests. “It makes me believe they are aware of everything that happened to Jamal through me,” Elatr said.
