Horlich Florestal, 29, L, and Rosemond Altidon, 27, R, stand on the roof of their apartment building, half of which was destroyed in the earthquake of January 12, 2010, in the Fort National neighborhood of Port-au-Prince, January 4, 2015. They both still live in the building, and Alton helped convert the building's ragged edges into a balcony. Said Florestal, "I was completely scared when that quake happened because I had never felt an earthquake before. Many of my neighbors, including two cousins and their aunt, died when our building fell apart. I didn’t know if life would continue. Everything was gone. Life was gone."
