Kikandi has three children, ages 7, 4 and 2. She spent much of her pregnancy, from February to May, living in the bush outside of the village during the fighting. "We always run if there’s a fight. We go up behind the big mountain here." She returned to find her house burned down and all her possessions gone. The family is now living in a shelter made of tarps.
